Paris Mon Amour

On our third day in Paris, we had really nice weather and we decided to visit Montmartre. It was the hottest day of our trip so it was extra beautiful there. On holiday I always want to make sure to see all the stunning places the city has to offer. But also sometimes it is exhausting to stand in line for hours and spend a good amount of money to get a glimpse of a painting or a church between other tourists heads. Montmartre is the perfect in between because of course there are a lot of tourists and souvenir shops but you find a calm little spot if you're just trying hard enough. We ended up in a little restaurant which was super cute - my pasta was shit to be honest though - but France is not famous for it's pasta, isn't it? And luckily it was the only time I ate something level: not-even-near-a-Michelin-star. But all this is forgiven when you see all the instagramable (most important thing) places in Montmartre. The stunning Sacre Coeur in all black and white, all these super cute little houses and the street art everywhere.

An unserem dritten Tag in Paris hatten wir wirklich gutes Wetter und deshalb sind wir nach Montmartre gefahren. Es war der heißeste Tag unseres Urlaubs, weshalb es dort noch schöner war, als es sowieso wäre. Ich versuche immer aller schönen Orte zu besichtigen, die eine Stadt zu bieten hat, wenn ich schonmal dort bin. Aber manchmal ist es echt kräftezehrend, wenn man eine Menge Zeit und Geld dafür "verschwendet" in irgendeiner Schlange anzustehen, nur um über die Köpfe der anderen Touristen hinweg einen kurzen Blick auf ein Gemälde oder in eine Kirche zu werfen. Montmartre ist dann die richtige Lösung, denn man hat hier viel Tourismus und auch die obligatorischen Souvenir-Shops, aber wenn man ein wenig sucht, findet man auch ein ruhiges abgelegenes Örtchen zum verweilen. So fanden wir uns am Ende in einem kleinen süßen Restaurant wieder - meine Pasta war aber ehrlich gesagt wirklich scheiße - aber Frankreich ist ja auch nicht für seine Pasta berühmt, oder? Und glücklicherweise war es auch das einzige Mal, dass ich etwas auf dem Niveau nicht-mal-in-der-Nähe-eines-Michelin-Sterns essen musste. Das gesamte Essens-Fiasko ist spätestens dann verziehen, wenn man all die wunderschönen instagramwürdigen (wichtigstes Kriterium) Orte in Montmartre sieht. Die überwältigende Sacre Coeur ganz in schwarz-weiß, die kleinen Häuschen und die ausgefallene Street Art überall.
